About Event

Led by Adam Kuzee, Zach Brown and Alex Fogelson of MIT FutureTech, this interactive workshop explores how advances in artificial intelligence could reshape employment, economic opportunity and the future of work.

Drawing on MIT FutureTech’s research, Crashing Waves vs. Rising Tides, the session examines whether AI capabilities are advancing through sudden breakthroughs that transform particular occupations or through broader, more continuous improvements across workplace tasks.

What do these patterns mean for workers, employers and policymakers? How might increasing AI capabilities translate into changes in productivity, wages, employment and the skills we value? And how can we distinguish what AI is technically capable of doing from what organizations are likely to automate?
