About Event

After this workshop, you can hand the test writing you do by hand to an AI agent and get back work you would be willing to merge.

Four hours, live, in a small group, on your own machine.

Why this skill, now

The new AI job titles ask for the same Playwright or Selenium, CI, and debugging you already know, with one line added about AI tooling. AI is not replacing test automation engineers. Engineers who use it are replacing engineers who do not.

Why live and not a recording

These tools change every few weeks, so a course recorded today is missing things three months later. Live is how I teach what is current, including what I worked out on my own project last month. My recorded courses cover the fundamentals; this covers the part that keeps moving. And when a run fails on your machine, we work out why together.

Who this is for

  • You already write automated tests, or you review them

  • You have used AI in a chat window, but never let an agent work inside a real project

  • You want to try it on real code before you try it at work

The examples are Playwright, but the skill is directing the agent, so any framework is fine. If you have not written tests before, start with my courses and come to a later cohort.

What we do

  • Set up the kit on a fresh project, get a first test running, and look at what it is doing: the house rules, the context files, the skills

  • Turn a plain feature description into a test plan, read it critically, then generate and run the tests

  • Review what came back, including tests that pass while checking the wrong thing

What you leave with

  • The Practice Test Automation Kit. A drop-in layer for Claude Code and Playwright, for a new project or one you already have. It carries the conventions and a worked example the agent copies, so the output looks like your team wrote it.

  • The recording and a Discord channel that stays open for questions long after the day.

  • A certificate of completion with your name, the date, and the four hours on it

Who is teaching

I have built test automation for 15+ years and still do it as my day job, currently as a Principal SDET. I have taught it for eight years, across nine Udemy courses, to more than 115,000 students.

What you need before the day

  • A computer you can install software on

  • Node 18 or newer

  • Claude Code, with a paid Claude subscription (~$20/month). This is not included in the ticket.

  • About 30 minutes for the setup pack I send a few days ahead

Dates and refunds

Each cohort in this series runs at a different hour, so the series covers more time zones. Full refund up to 48 hours before the workshop starts. After that, you keep the recording.
