AI and the Future of Purpose
AI and the Future of Purpose
In a world where machines can do more, what makes us matter?
Artificial intelligence is changing how we work, create, learn, relate, and imagine the future. As machines become increasingly capable, we are confronted with questions that go beyond technology: Who are we? What gives our lives meaning? And how should we understand human purpose in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence?
AI and the Future of Purpose is a virtual conversation exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence, philosophy, human identity, and Christian faith.
Through four lenses, we will examine what it means to be human in the age of AI:
01 — DESIGN
Who are we, and what were we made for?
02 — DISRUPTION
What happens when technology changes how we understand ourselves?
03 — DISTORTION
What happens when we confuse our capacities with our identity?
04 — DIRECTION
How should we live, work, create, and make decisions in the age of AI?
From machine intelligence and human consciousness to work, relationships, ambition, and mortality, this conversation will examine the assumptions shaping our technological future and ask whether greater capability necessarily means greater purpose.
Grounded in Christian thought and engaging with contemporary ideas about AI, this is an invitation to think critically about the future we are building, the values guiding it, and the meaning of being human.
This conversation is for you if you are a student, developer, technology enthusiast, or simply someone thinking seriously about faith, purpose, and what it means to live meaningfully in a rapidly changing world.
You do not need a technical background to participate. Come ready to think, question, and engage.

The question is not merely what AI will make possible. It is what we believe human beings are for, and how that belief should guide the future we build.
