Every month brings more evidence of AI models behaving in increasingly harmful, unpredictable, and uncontrollable ways.  The Canadian government was slow to acknowledge these dangers, initially focusing on economic opportunity.  However, Prime Minister Mark Carney, along with 21 global leaders, recently signed a document recognizing the risks of rapid AI development and urging coordinated global oversight.  We applaud this as a move in the right direction, and now ask Carney to take one additional step: join the over 30 MPs and senators who have said superintelligent AI is a threat to national security and should be banned globally.

Join us on Saturday Sept 26 at Phillips Square in downtown Montreal as we ask Mark Carney and the Canadian government to endorse an international effort to prohibit the development of superintelligent AI!
