ISW West India Data Sprint

​Veditum & India Sand Watch, with our partners Alliance for Conserving Freshwater Ecosystems, is hosting our third data sprint, West India Data Sprint.

​Veditum’s ‘Data Sprints’ aim to bring together communities of open-data enthusiasts, and people concerned about rivers - particularly about the issue of river sand mining, to participate in a collective, day-long, intensive data digitisation effort.

​This data is then open, and freely accessible on the India Sand Watch platform for anyone wishing to use it for on-ground action, research, media reports, legal action etc.

​The outcome of the sprint is a systematic, structured compilation of data on sand mining locations, news, and survey reports on West Indian rivers - focusing on the coastal states of Goa, Maharashtra & Gujarat, which will serve as a great resource for everyone involved with the issue.
