About Brett Swope:
Brett embodies the ideal of the "Founder's Engineer"—a leader with the deep technical expertise to build a product from the ground up and the proven business acumen to build a company around it. A Stanford Mechanical Engineering alum, his career has spanned the full hardware and med-tech lifecycle. He was a key inventor at BaroSense, a venture-backed medical device startup that he helped guide through FDA approvals to a successful acquisition by Boston Scientific.
Beyond that experience, Brett has also been in the founder's seat himself. He co-founded and served as President of RapID Lab, taking a novel hardware product from concept to international commercialization. This gives him a rare, 360-degree perspective on the challenges and opportunities that founders like you face every day.
For the past 15 years, Brett has dedicated his work to helping other innovators succeed as the Founder and Principal of Swope Design Solutions. His firm is a go-to resource for startups, helping them navigate the entire journey from an idea on a napkin to a scalable, manufacturable product. He has deep, hands-on expertise in de-risking product development, bridging the prototype-to-production gap, and making the tough engineering and business trade-offs required to build a successful company.
