About Event

Spend an evening slowing down and stepping into the quiet world of fireflies.

Through stories, conversations, and shared curiosity, we explore how these small, glowing beings reveal larger truths about ecosystems, darkness, memory, and our relationship with the natural world.

What we'll do

In this intimate virtual conversation, we gather with naturalists and researchers who have spent time closely observing fireflies and the ecosystems they inhabit.

Together, we will explore the hidden lives of fireflies — their rhythms, habitats, behaviour, and the fragile conditions they depend on to survive. The session will move beyond facts alone, opening space for reflection, curiosity, and a renewed sense of wonder toward the landscapes around us.

The conversation will be informal, accessible, and rooted in shared listening rather than expertise.

What you get

• A live virtual conversation with firefly experts and naturalists
• Insights into firefly ecology, behaviour, and conservation
• A small, reflective community space for questions and discussion
• An opportunity to reconnect with nature through stories and observation

Who this is for

This space is open to:

• Nature enthusiasts and curious learners
• Individuals interested in ecology, conservation, and biodiversity
• People looking for slower, more meaningful conversations online
• Anyone fascinated by fireflies and the hidden worlds around us

You do not need prior knowledge of ecology or science. This session is designed to be accessible, thoughtful, and welcoming to all.

About the Panelists

This conversation brings together researchers, naturalists, and conservation practitioners who have spent years observing fireflies and the ecosystems they inhabit.

Their work spans firefly ecology, biodiversity conservation, nocturnal landscapes, and nature observation, guided in both scientific inquiry and deep attentiveness to the natural world. Together, they invite us into a slower, more curious way of looking at the living landscapes around us.
