What You Leave Out
Design, Attention and the Architecture of Good Decisions.
Part of Design Vancouver Festival 2026.
Free to attend. Registration required. Seating is limited.
A room is a collection of decisions.
Every object, placement, material, omission, and edit reflects a choice. The same is true of a building, a brand, a business, a creative practice, or a life.
What You Leave Out explores why the principles that create enduring design are the same principles that create decisions that hold: attention, editing, restraint, structural integrity, and knowing what belongs.
The quality of what we build is inseparable from the quality of the decisions that shape it.
Kim Stern is a curator, decision strategist, and founder of Good Question. She works with creatives, founders and cultural leaders to help them see clearly, trust their own discernment, and make decisions that hold.
If registrations have closed, or you'd like to hear about future talks, join the Good Question mailing list for reflections, practices, and future events.
