hi all, this is david ho (dho)! i'm hosting a new kizomba / urban kiz open session at home bass! 🏡

🕑: 2pm ~ 6pm

🚪: after you rsvp, dho will send you the door code.
2pm ~ 4pm: basics, refining foundations
4pm ~ 6pm: concept practice, drills, labbing, peer feedback
all levels welcome (including newbies)!

my intention is to:
introduce new people to kizomba and urban kiz 🐣📈
give us a space outside of classes or socials to practice concepts with the freedom to make mistakes, get out of our default patterns / comfort zones, and share feedback with each other 🧪📝
encourage cross-pollination and mutual curiosity between the streetdance and kizomba / urban kiz communities 🐝🫱🏽🫲🏿
this first session will kinda be a trial run! we'll adjust the format of the session according to who shows up, but we'll always have something for both beginners and more experienced dancers!
expectations:
the dance floor was entirely built by volunteers; we all need to take care of it. either dance in socks, or clean the soles of your shoes with wet wipes before stepping onto the dance floor. also, no high heels on the dance floor (they'll scratch it up). 🧦
health precautions: flu and rsv rates are increasing right now in the bay area, so please wear an n95 or kn95 mask, and stay home if you have any symptoms. 😷
(in the future, when there are upticks in covid rates according to https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/RespiratoryVirusReport.aspx , we'll also ask that everyone take a rapid test before arriving.)

photos/videos: recording ourselves and reviewing our own footage can sometimes be an important part of training.
but if you'd prefer not to be in any photos/videos, contact dho, and we can make accomodations (like designating a section of the floor that should stay off camera). 🫥
