CPO Night — Porto AI Week
Beyond the AI Demo: The Product Decisions That Turn AI into Durable Value
The demo always works. That was never the hard part.
AI prototypes are easy to celebrate. Products people adopt, trust, and keep using are a different problem — and it starts the moment the applause stops.
CPO Night brings three senior product leaders together for an honest conversation about what happens after the demo: how you pick an AI problem worth solving, what evidence you need before committing, how you build something people will actually trust, what it does to your team, and who stays accountable when it doesn't work.
Three very different environments — global logistics, digital healthcare, and product portfolios operating at scale across brands and markets. All three shaped by complexity, regulation, competition, and the real cost of getting a decision wrong.
Sónia Gomes — Host and moderator
Fractional Product Design Partner. Product strategy, design and leadership.
Tiago Craveiro — Panellist
Director of Product, Platform and Engineering for e-commerce at Maersk. Former co-founder and CPO of HUUB. Invited professor of digital product management.
João Magalhães — Panellist
Medical doctor, health-tech founder, co-founder and CPTO of knok.
Sílvia Barbosa — Panellist
Product Director at Flutter Entertainment, working on product evolution at scale across global sportsbook and trading products.
Tiago and João came up in the same early Porto product ecosystem, around Iterar and knok. They ended up in very different systems — a global logistics operator and a digital health platform — which is what makes the comparison worth having. Sílvia brings the third case: evolving mature products across multiple brands and markets, where the constraint is almost never the idea.
Who this is for
CPOs, Heads and Directors of Product, senior product managers, and design and engineering leaders who are past the experimentation stage and trying to make AI count for something.
Format
90 minutes. Three short provocations, a moderated panel, then audience questions through Slido — submit and upvote from the moment doors open. Time to stay and talk afterwards.
Part of Porto AI Week
Porto AI Week runs 14–18 September. For one week the whole city becomes the venue: dozens of independent events, hosted by the communities, companies and studios that already make Porto work. No main stage, no single lineup. Just a lot of rooms, open at the same time.
