Build x Agents [ONLINE]: Introduction — Claude Code, Codex, Open Claw, +
A beginner-friendly introduction to AI agents — what they are, how they work, and how to start building with them.
TL;DR
Beginner-friendly: No prior agent experience needed — we start from the basics.
Theory + live demos: Every concept explained and shown in action with real tools.
Interactive: Not just a lecture — polls, discussion, and you can jump on mic anytime.
Meet other builders: Speed networking rounds to connect 1-on-1 with other attendees.
Agenda (~80 min)
1. Presentation: Theory + Live Demos (45 min)
We'll explain the key concepts behind AI agents and immediately show them in action — theory and practice side by side:
What makes something an "agent"? — The difference between a chatbot and an autonomous agent.
Core concepts: Harnesses, Skills, Contexts, and more of the most important concepts explained.
The current landscape: A quick overview of the tools and frameworks people are using right now.
How to get started: Practical first steps depending on your experience level.
Throughout: emoji polls ("Which tools have you tried?", "What do you want to build?"), chat questions, and we'll pull people onto mic for their takes.
2. Speed Networking 1-on-1s (30 min)
6 rounds of 5 minutes each. Get paired with another attendee in a private voice channel — talk about what you're building, what you're curious about, or just connect.
Opt-in only — if you'd rather just listen, stay in the main channel.
After each round, everyone gets moved and re-paired.
Afterwards, feel free to stick around on the server to keep chatting.
Who is this for?
Beginners: You've heard about AI agents but haven't built one yet. You want to understand the concepts before diving in.
Explorers: You've used tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, or Bolt but want to understand the bigger picture of what agents can do.
Advanced builders: You're already building — come share your perspective and help others get started.
