𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲
Northfina is a Helsinki-based leasing platform. It started as Etufillari, a bike-leasing service, and now handles leasing for any kind of asset: bikes, devices, vehicles, and machinery. Dealers, banks and customers use it to get from a price quote to a signed contract, then through monthly invoices to the end of the lease. We work with a modern stack: Next.js, TypeScript, Azure and Prisma.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: "𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗽"
Teams of 3 build a circular-economy leasing app that covers the whole life of a leased item:
• A catalogue of assets (e-bikes, laptops, farm machines)
• A pricing engine that gives a clear monthly price, with live sliders for term and down payment
• A customer application with a smart question flow
• A contract that locks in the agreed price
• Monthly invoices generated from that contract
• End of term: buy it, return it, or pass it on to a second user, which starts a new lease
We'll provide a starter repo and a sample data pack. Students can use AI tools to write code, but the app itself must be built on rules and logic, with no AI features inside it. We also judge engineering quality the way we work every day: tests, commit hooks, clean commits and a passing CI pipeline.

• Who can join: Hivers who know TypeScript/JavaScript, plus design- and product-minded students. Teams of 3.
• Schedule: kick-off and challenge presentation Thursday at 16:00, submissions Friday at 16:00 (a GitHub repo and a short demo), pitches and judging until 18:00.
• Judging: 40% product, 35% engineering quality, 25% pitch and demo.
