“I Read An Article" (I Saw a TikTok) NYC Event
We are bringing the FYP IRL.
Hi, we’re Zaid and Miriam, content creators who are both chronically online and also desperate for offline analog experiences. We’ve been working together to host community-driven virtual experiences and are excited to do something together in New York City!
Lately, we’ve been thinking about the ephemeral nature of the content we consume–we scroll and it disappears, both from our screens and our brains. We know the ways short-form videos can change our thinking about our lives and each other in really lasting ways; let’s let that information sink in longer!
Here’s our attempt: you’re invited to our microfilm festival: “I Read An Article (I Saw a TikTok…)”
This is a live event where we will screen some of the most meaningful short-form videos that we have seen, that have impacted us, and left us thinking more deeply. After screening, we’ll break off into groups and engage in a facilitated conversation reflecting on the content we have just consumed.
Let’s push back against the lonely endless scroll.
