About Event

The last room of the year. What are we taking with us, and what are we finally putting down?

A year of experiments, arguments, and half-built ideas, sorted into what earns a place in 2027 and what does not.

Some of this year was worth it. Not all of it.

We have spent a year in this room comparing notes while the ground moved. Tools arrived and vanished. Rules got written, ignored, rewritten. Some things we were sure about in January look silly now, and a few things we dismissed turned out to matter.

December is for sorting that pile.

We will go around the room and name three things each: one thing worth carrying into next year, one thing to put down, and one thing you still want an answer to. Then we will look at what the room has in common, and where it splits.

Bring the experiment that worked. Bring the one that did not, especially that one. Bring the question you have been carrying since September. Bring something to share, because it is December and we are going to eat.

This is a reckoning and a bit of a party. Both are allowed.

The questions on the table:

  • What is the one practice from this year you would defend to anyone?

  • What are you putting down, and what made you decide?

  • What did you believe in January that you no longer believe?

  • What did a student teach you this year that stuck?

  • What is still unresolved, and who else is carrying that question?

  • What do you want this room to take on in 2027?

What to expect

  • Open conversation around real education and AI questions

  • Space to share tools, workflows, prompts, projects, and experiments

  • Honest talk about consent, equity, workload, assessment, creativity, and student agency

  • Small-group discussion so everyone actually gets to talk

  • A practical community vibe: more kitchen table than conference stage

Who ED + AI is

ED + AI is a monthly AI and education gathering hosted with big love by Ethọ́s Lab × BC + AI.

We are here to weave practical tools with ethical guardrails so classrooms, after-school programs, community labs, and learning spaces can adapt without losing the human core: relationships, curiosity, confidence, care, and agency.

Who belongs

Educators (K to 12 and post-secondary), students, parents and caregivers, youth-program leads, librarians, mentors, researchers, artists, designers, EdTech builders, and all curious neighbours welcome.

If you see learning as public infrastructure and teaching as a creative act, you are home.

Big love to Ethọ́s Lab

Ethọ́s Lab is a youth-powered innovation studio centring Black futures and community imagination. Their space, leadership, and care make ED + AI possible. Thank you for holding the centre and keeping the vibe welcoming and bold.
