DevDay Exchange Community Builderthon: Sydney
AS OF NOVEMBER 2026, EVERYONE CAN BUILD
That idea you keep talking about? Give it a Saturday.
Join us for a day of expression and creation using ChatGPT and Codex with the curious and ambitious!
It is easy as this:
Describe what you'd like to make in everyday language, then Codex will build it
Make something from the heart, meet people who are making things too, and see what happens when someone else tries yours.
No coding or AI experience needed. You don't need an idea or a team either. We'll have pros on hand to support as well. If you already build, bring an idea you've been wanting to try and give it a day of focused attention.
What could you make?
Tracks TBC
but... in the realms of:
- A tool that takes a tedious job off your hands
- A game you wish existed / A creative experiment you've never had time to try.
- We're also exploring possibilities beyond the screen as well...
The final challenges are still taking shape. More on the challenges and prizes soon.
The itinerary
Friday 13 November 2026, 6 to 8 pm AEDT. Kickoff and team formation. (Optional)
Meet the community, get set up and find your teammates.
Saturday 14 November 2026, 9 am to 8 pm AEDT. Build day and judging.
We'll start with the full briefing, an introduction to Codex and team matching for anyone joining that morning. Then it's time to build.
Come solo, find teammates or bring a team of up to four. Make something, let someone try it and use their feedback to improve it.
We'll finish on Saturday evening with short project demos, judging and awards. Try other people's projects and meet the people behind them.
A small first version counts. The aim is to leave with something you want to keep working on.
Bring your laptop and curiosity
Bring your laptop and charger. Come with an idea, or find one with the people you meet.
