What the Checks Caught | Ritual DevRel Office Hours
Two weeks ago we gave builders homework: run five quick checks on your Ritual project, find the one bug they caught, fix it, post the before-and-after.
Thursday it comes due. This session is about what those checks found — and what they teach everyone else.
What the Checks Caught — Ritual DevRel Office Hours Thursday, Oct 1 · 3:30 PM CT · live on Discord
In ~55 minutes:
The bugs builders caught. The best "here's what the check found" posts from the Verify Challenge, walked through one at a time: which check caught it, what the fix was, and the lesson for your own scaffold.
Closing the loop. What you reported back about the checks themselves — flags that weren't real problems, steps that were out of date — and what we logged.
The next habit: when nothing comes back. Async calls on Ritual can return a result, an error, or nothing in time. We cover how to check
hasErrorbefore reading output, sizettlin Ritual blocks (not Ethereum block math), keep callbacks deliverable, and mock the empty, error, and expired cases before you go live. All from the public skills repo.Homework for Oct 15: "Test the empty path." Add one test where the result comes back empty or late, make your contract do something sensible about it, post it in
#builder-showcase.
Vote with 💚 / 💙 in chat, guess which check caught each bug, scoreboard at the end. Bring your scaffold, your test results, or just your questions.
Office Hours runs every other Thursday.
Next one after this: Oct 15.
