ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Anna Elliott is a poet who lives on Treaty 6 territory with her partner and their dog.
Olivia Hartwick is a university student living in amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton), on Treaty 6 territory. Her work is set to appear in Volume X of the MacEwan Bolo Tie.
Lisa Martin is Assistant Professor of Creative Writing in the Department of English at MacEwan University. Her third collection of poetry, Nighthawks, came out with University of Alberta Press in Spring 2026.
Breanna Mroczek always dreamed of being a magazine editor or travel agent, and then the internet happened, but she still became a magazine editor and writer, avid traveller, points collector, and travel agent to her friends. Breanna lives in Edmonton.
Beth Murray is a poet living in Edmonton on Treaty 6 territory. Though she has been writing poetry since she was a teen, this is her first published work. Her writing generally explores family dynamics, chronic illness, and navigating through larger-than-life emotions.
Adriana Oniță is a poet, artist, educator, editor, translator, and researcher with a PhD in arts-based language education. She writes and teaches in English, Romanian, Spanish, French, and Italian. Her debut poetry collection, Descântec For My Split Tongue, is published by Palimpsest Press Anstruther Books. Her multilingual poems also appear in CBC Books, The Globe and Mail, The Ex-Puritan, Canthius, Tint Journal, and in her chapbooks: Misremembered Proverbs (aboveground press, 2023) and Conjugated Light (Glass Buffalo, 2019). As founder of The Polyglot, she is proud to have published more than 250 writers, translators, and artists working in over 60 languages. Jaspreet Singh’s most recent poetry books form the “Still Astonished” trilogy—How to Hold a Pebble (2022), Dreams of the Epoch & the Rock (2024), and The Time of the Earth (2026). More and more his work engages with deep time and the ecological.
Makenna Sjogren is a twenty-six-year-old emerging writer and poet whose work explores the varied emotional textures of lived experience. This is her first published creative work.
Marcus Standeven is a burgeoning poet who lives on a farm with his wife. This is his first published work.
Melissa Walker was born and raised in Edmonton on Treaty 6 territory. She once had a piece of poetry about nightmares published in an anthology when she was young. Her inclination has always been to write about emotional darkness and turmoil, using words to make sense of the world around her.
