Cohort 4 — Jacob Lawrence

Painter born in Atlantic City, NJ in 1917. Lawrence is best known for the Migration Series — 60 panels chronicling people and communities in moments of transformation and movement. His work is about transition, about becoming.

The inflection-point cohort — the highest concentration of founders focused on fundraising readiness, major raises, launches, and pivots. Founders at moments of real transformation in their company. Lawrence's art was about exactly that: the dignity, drama, and possibility of being in motion.
