For more than 40 years, James Bacchi has built a career at the intersection of artists, galleries, and collectors. Beginning in New York’s legendary 1980s East Village art and club scene, he went on to establish galleries in New York before relocating to San Francisco, where he co-founded the award-winning ArtHaus Gallery with art consultant Annette Schutz. For 25 years, ArtHaus was a fixture of the Bay Area contemporary art scene.
Today, as founder of James Bacchi Contemporary in Palm Springs, James continues to rethink the traditional gallery model as a gallerist, curator, art consultant, and collaborator. Throughout his career, he has discovered and championed artists while building long-term relationships with collectors and adapting to a dramatically changing art market.
