Speaker Bio:
Jennifer Spurrell is Detective Superintendent and Director of Financial Crime Services with the Ontario Provincial Police, where she leads the province’s centre of expertise for financial crime investigations. Her team brings together the Anti-Rackets Branch and Serious Fraud Office to support complex investigations involving fraud, corruption, money laundering, cryptocurrency, and cyber-enabled financial crime.
Jennifer has extensive leadership experience across financial crime, cyber operations, digital forensics, forensic services, criminal behavioural analysis, and major case management. She previously served as Director of Criminal Investigation Support Services and has led investigations involving homicides, serious fraud, missing persons, and other major criminal matters.
Known for her collaborative leadership and ability to build trusted partnerships, Jennifer works closely with law enforcement, regulators, financial institutions, government agencies, and private-sector stakeholders in Canada and internationally. She contributes to working groups focused on fraud, high-risk offenders, artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and emerging financial crime.
