Two Wings Practice
In Buddhist contemplative tradition, awakening is said to rest on two wings: compassion (the heart's capacity to meet suffering) and wisdom (the clear seeing through awareness itself). This practice cultivates both, in sequence.
We begin with the wing of compassion, using the notes:
"As compassion, there is..."
"Compassion is..."
Then, carrying the warmth of that opening, we add the insight-directed notes:
"As awareness, there is..."
"Awareness is..."
