La Sobremesa presents: Tongue Untie-ers for Empires
The next edition of La Sobremesa by M-O welcomes an opportunity to explore words, British-Asian poetry and explore generational stories, energetic shifts and delicious food prepared by The Punjab's caring chefs.
Your ticket includes starters, multiple main dishes, naan breads, rice and a soft drink as well as access to the entire workshop and evening.
Come prepared to play with words. We will listen to British Asian poetry and then collectively embark on a journey to immortalise a story while we feast on a delectable menu exploring delicious flavours from Punjabi cuisine.
Friend, lover, daughter, writer and part-time theologian. Italo-Panjabi, London-born Kiran Armanasco asks us to write on both sides of the page.In 2024 she founded Penne Al Sugo, a flinta* writing collective meeting sporadically in Café Oto. This has thus far resulted in the birth of two zines and a fluorishing community.
Joining Kiran, is Deborah, with over 40 years of international experience, Deborah FreeSpirit has guided thousands of people from all walks of life through life’s most important crossroads with compassion, integrity and intuitive wisdom. She has appeared at many of the UK’s leading Mind, Body & Spirit events and has worked privately with celebrities, public figures and business leaders who value her discretion and heartfelt approach. Using her natural intuitive abilities alongside tarot and oracle cards, Deborah creates a welcoming space where clarity unfolds, confidence grows and people reconnect with the wisdom of their own Soul.
The Punjab, a fourth-generation Punjabi restaurant in Covent Garden, will host us for this intimate evening of conversation, learning and writing. 2026 marks 80 years as a cherished London institution. Founded by Gurbachan Singh Maan, it pioneered North Indian cuisine in Britain. Today, Amrit Maan, an OBE recipient, solicitor, and magistrate, upholds the family's "profit with purpose" philosophy.
If you have any dietary requirements, or need any specific accommodation for the evening, please let us know via: maeve@m-o-connects.com
