AI Safety Communications Bootcamp
AI safety is one of the hardest challenges in science communication. We need talented people who can make it understandable.
When an AI safety incident makes headlines, explaining what happened is only the beginning. What does it tell us about the technology? How serious is it? And how do you communicate the stakes without losing the science or your audience?
Join the Center for AI Safety in San Francisco for a free, one-day bootcamp focused on writing, storytelling and explaining complex AI safety ideas. Through teaching and practical workshops, you’ll work on how to turn a difficult topic into something people can follow and care about.
What you’ll walk away with
Techniques for finding a clear angle and building a compelling explanation.
Practice translating AI safety ideas for an audience beyond the field.
Feedback on your work and concrete ways to improve it.
Connections with other creators and communicators interested in working on AI safety.
We’re looking for people with a talent for explaining things and the motivation to develop it. You might already make science content, write for a student publication, communicate research, or be considering a move into this work. You don’t need a large following or prior AI safety expertise.
Places are limited and selected by application. Come ready to work on your ideas, engage with feedback and spend the full day learning.
