A Techstars Webinar

The SBIR/STTR is shifting fast and most founders are not positioned for what’s coming next. In this webinar, Stacy Chin, Ph.D. will break down the evolving funding landscape, what’s actually changing behind the scenes, and how startups need to adapt to stay competitive. We’ll cover how to think about non-dilutive funding in a tighter environment, where teams are getting it wrong, and how to position your start-up to move decisively when opportunities open.

About Stacy Chin, Ph.D.

Dr. Chin brings over a decade of experience supporting founders, academic spin-outs, and early-stage companies building technically complex, high-risk R&D ventures. Her work focuses on translating strong science into fundable, scalable businesses, with expertise spanning technical strategy, fundraising, and commercialization. She has advised teams across biotech and pharma, hard tech and manufacturing, AI/ML, defense and dual-use, and climate and energy, helping secure over $50M in non-dilutive funding. Stacy has served as an SBIR/STTR reviewer for both the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Science Foundation (NSF). She is a mentor within leading startup ecosystems, including Techstars and MassChallenge, and has worked closely with founders emerging from top research institutions such as Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Chin is a former PI, 3X founder, TEDx speaker, and shares practical guidance on non-dilutive funding with an audience of over 10,000 subscribers on YouTube, helping founders navigate an increasingly competitive non-dilutive funding landscape.
