Community Call #8 - Persona Under Constraints
Design XP Community Call #8 - Persona Under Constraints
Interested in a design event that's a little different from the usual? This one's for you.
Join us for a hands-on community session where everyone designs the same AI agent but with a twist. Each person gets a different constraint, and that constraint is your entire design brief. Same agent, different rules. The interesting part comes at the end: because everyone started from the same baseline, you can see exactly how different constraints pull a design in different directions.
The agent itself will be revealed at the event. Your constraint might be something like "it can never refer to itself in first person," or "it has to win over a user who's skeptical of AI," or "every interaction has to respect someone who's always short on time." You'll design 1-2 screens — an onboarding message, a first interaction, an error state — in whatever tool you like. Figma, FigJam, even a Notion doc works.
How the 60 minutes runs:
We start by defining what "personality" even means in UX terms - tone of copy, response behavior, the small signals
20 minutes of focused design
Presentations and group critique
A quick wrap pulling out the patterns that showed up across the room
Whether you're experienced or just getting into UX, this is a good way to practice constraint-driven thinking and get reps talking through your design decisions out loud.
Open to everyone!
