Taking Root's Miyawaki Mini-Forest Initiative: Camp Washington
If you want to see a newly-planted Miyawaki Mini-Forest and hear the story of how it came to be, please visit us in Camp Washington on Monday June 8th from 5.30 pm to 8 pm. Members of Taking Root's board and other volunteers will be on hand to answer questions, share lessons learned, and explain plans for future forests to be planted in other urban locations. You can see what a 6-week Miyawaki forest looks like and find out about other mini-forests in the Greater Cincinnati region.
Taking Root thanks our partners at the UC Field Center, the Ohio Valley Forestry Fellowship, Cincinnati Parks and too many other local organizations to count. Huge thanks as well to the over 70 individuals who helped us plant our first (of many) mini-forests on April 18th. Together, we planted 625 native trees!
