Document Layout with PP-DocLayoutV3
Hosted by Isaac Flath and Joe Barrow.
We’re looking at PP-DocLayoutV3, and specifically how it finds the parts of a document, puts them in reading order, and handles pages that are warped, curved, or rotated.
We’ll walk through the model and examples from the RT-DocLayout paper, and discuss how we’d use it in document pipelines. Bring questions.
What we’ll discuss:
Boxes: How it finds and classifies document regions (paragraphs, headings, tables, etc.)
Reading order: How it compares pairs of regions to work out a reading sequence in complex layouts.
Warping and rotation: How the segmentation approach works, and how training sets were created to make it generalize better to distorted pages and curved, warped, and tilted documents.
