Climate-Resilient Cities: Methane Reductions in Circular Waste Infrastructure
Seeking expressions of interest from climate and environment policymakers as well as senior (c-suite, director-level) individuals from methane and science bodies, and NGOs for this ~20-person roundtable in the UNFCCC Blue Zone. Early RSVP strongly recommended.
Forming part of the COP31 President's Action Agenda on Climate-Resilient Cities, this is a senior roundtable on Methane Reductions in Circular Waste Infrastructure.
Chaired by Fabio Dinale, Executive VP of Business Development at Kanadevia Inova, with Fabio Poretti, Head of Science | Energy&Climate at CEWEP.
Food and other organic waste in landfill are a major source of methane, a powerful short-term warming gas. Treating it through biogas and waste-to-energy turns the problem into power for cities. This session looks at the quickest practical ways to cut methane from waste and, critically, what it will take to get there — and the role of these technologies in the wider climate ecosystem.
