About Event

An intimate founders' fireside with Carolin Barr, founder of susGain

We often treat sustainability as a technology problem; better tools, cleaner tech, smarter systems. But the hardest parts are human. Why are recycling rates falling even as awareness rises? What actually moves people, teams, and organisations to change how they behave? And once you've built something meaningful, how do you prove it's real?

Join us for a candid, founder-to-founder conversation on the human side of building a sustainability venture, the behaviour change that technology alone can't deliver, and the credibility you must earn along the way.

What we'll explore

  • The human component of sustainability, why technology alone isn't enough, and what it really takes to drive behavioural change at the organizational and societal level.

  • Navigating sustainability certifications, the journey, value, and honest challenges of pursuing credentials like B Corp as a startup.

About the speaker

Carolin Barr is an eco-preneur and sustainability advocate with deep experience in business innovation and stakeholder engagement across APAC. She's the founder of susGain, an award-winning social enterprise delivering mobile and web solutions for sustainability transformation. A TEDx speaker, panelist, guest lecturer, and mentor, Carolin has shared her insights with organisations including Deloitte, P&G, Danone, Marsh McLennan, and TotalEnergies, and at platforms like the Singapore FinTech Festival. Before founding susGain, she led regional HR consulting and change management projects across APAC - a background that shapes her belief that lasting impact is built through people, not just products.

Who this is for

Early and growth-stage founders building in, or moving toward, climate and sustainability - and anyone wrestling with how to turn good intentions into real behavioural and organisational change. This is an intimate room designed for honest exchange, and founders will have a chance to speak in a intimate sharing session.
