About Event

​​G-Fellows is excited to host Hemal Shah, Product Lead at OpenAI

​Hemal Shah is a San Francisco–based product leader with 10 years of experience building consumer products and developer tooling across startups and public companies. He’s currently on the product team at OpenAI after serving as VP Product responsible for growth, monetization and expansion at Atlassian and as CPO/Chief R&D Officer at Root, where he led product, design and research at scale. His prior work includes consumer wallet and identity at Meta, co-leading Instagram Messaging and co-creating Threads, and stewarding developer platforms at Twitter (Crashlytics/fastlane). An active contributor to the fastlane mobile tooling—improving crash reporting, fastfile usability and Carthage integration—Hemal pairs hands-on engineering chops with go-to-market and advisory experience across energy and IoT startups, and participates in a CPO peer network.

Each G-Fellow sources promising startups, tracks emerging industry trends, and nominates founders to pitch leading investors. G-Fellows are guided by tier-one VC and founder advisors, and get direct access to some of the hottest startups in Silicon Valley through hands-on workshops designed to help them land their dream internship and become truly industry-ready. This is real experience — the network, the reps, and the credibility to walk into any room in venture or tech and belong there. ​Featured Fellows

​​Suhaan Khan is a freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, studying CS + Astronomy + Mathematics. He’s from Austin, Texas and moved to the U.S. when he was around 6 or 7 years old. He’s interested in entrepreneurship and research and is currently a cofounder of Framelight and Memory Map. On the research side, he’s working in quantum cryptography and machine learning in astrophysics, which he’s been exploring further through his academic work. Outside of that, he plays the clarinet and enjoys running.

​​Aditya Punjani is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin–Madison studying Computer Science, Mathematics, and Data Science. He’s been interested in venture capital for a while and has spent time building connections across different states, helping connect startups with venture funds. Alongside that, he’s focused on AI/ML and the quant space, and is currently conducting research in reinforcement learning and computer vision. He’s also looking for summer internship opportunities. Outside of academics and work, he enjoys traveling with friends, discussing scientific theories (especially unconventional or “conspiracy” ones), playing guitar, playing sports, and listening to music.

​William Xu is a freshman at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, studying Computer Engineering. He is the founder of ComeBack and is particularly interested in neuromorphic computing.
