About Event

The rapid decline of Arctic and sub-Arctic sea ice presents profound ecological, economic, and security risks. In this 2030 scenario exercise, participants will evaluate the global security and geopolitical implications of a hypothetical high-latitude stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI) deployment.

This Climate Week tabletop exercise, co-hosted by the Council on Strategic Risks and Reflective, will convene security and foreign policy leaders to examine the geopolitical dynamics of such interventions. Using Reflective’s simulator, participants will visualize how different deployment scenarios affect sea ice—and debate the risks, trade-offs, and uncertainties of urgent climate action.
