Village presents a selection of Japanese literature in English at Cöödie, curated by Jamel Duane Alatise.
Join us in South London’s own homegrown Cookie Bar in Peckham for an unmatched cookie, the most welcoming vibe, and inspiring books.
Our Pop-Up Library delivers an outstanding selection of Japanese literature. From inspiring and technical texts like Kenya Hara’s Designing Design, or befitting retrospectives on Japan’s seminal contemporaries such as Hayao Miyazaki, Fujiko Nakaya, and Ryuichi Sakamoto’s seeing sound, hearing time; to Soetsu Yanagi’s craft centred The Beauty of Everyday Things, Rei Naito’s Teshima-exclusive artistic and architectural monograph 1985 - 2015 blessing, all, and more, can be enjoyed and discussed during this pop-up, where the writings are displayed, accessible, and even introduced by our Founder.
