HONG KONG Drop-in A Cappella!
[To our Californians — NOTE: THIS EVENT IS IN HONG KONG! As in on the other side of the world. You're welcome to fly in if you'd like!]
Are you a choir kid who misses the rehearsal room? The connectedness that can only come from your voice sinking into that sea of harmony? Are you a karaoke enthusiast who wants to make your Glee / Pitch Perfect dreams come true?
Robert Lee (Acahub founder and a cappella coach) and Vincent See (founder of a cappella groups in Hong Kong and the US) will co-host Hong Kong's first Acahub-style Drop In — an afternoon of fun for anyone who wants to sing in harmony, whether you sing every week or haven't sung since school.
Acahub is an a cappella community based in San Francisco, best known for its "Drop Ins," where about 100 strangers come together to sing a pop song in harmony, and 3/4 day retreats (@acahub.music on Instagram).
How it works: We'll warm up together, then split into voice parts. A section leader will teach your part by ear, a few lines at a time. If you'd like to prepare, we can also share the music in advance so you can hit the ground running. You don't need to read music, and nobody sings alone. At the end, we'll put it all together and sing the full song just for fun — and we may capture a video.
Drinks social 6:00–8:00 PM after the workshop — your ticket includes one drink.
Please RSVP soon — spots are limited, and we're only doing this once!
