Kyle O'Brien (Geodesic) joins CLR's 2026 Summer Research Fellowship Guest Speaker series for a talk and Q&A, opened up to the LISA community.
Kyle is a founding researcher at Geodesic Research, a technical AI safety organization building robust alignment initializations—base models shaped through pre- and midtraining to hold up under capabilities reinforcement learning. There, he leads pretraining and midtraining safety directions to address dangerous capabilities (e.g., biorisk and offensive cyber) and works to instill deeper alignment and character into LLMs.
Kyle will present on Geodesic's current work and theory of change.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A.
