​AI is quickly becoming part of how we think, work, research, create, and make decisions. But most of the AI tools we use today are controlled by centralized platforms — raising important questions about privacy, security, ownership, trust, and sovereignty.
​Last week, we explored the foundations of decentralized AI and asked some important questions:
​What do we mean by sovereignty, decentralization, privacy, and security?
​Which AI systems are centralized, and which ones are open source?
​What kinds of data do we actually want to protect?
​Why does protecting our data matter?
​How do we think about trust when AI tools are becoming more powerful and personal?
​This week, we’ll move from theory into practice.
​In Part 2, we’ll go through the setup of a live self-hosted AI machine and explore what it means to run AI on infrastructure you control. We’ll look at how local and self-hosted AI tools can work alongside cloud-based LLMs, and how to combine information from different AI sources in a more private, secure, and intentional way.
​This session is for anyone curious about what it actually takes to move beyond simply using AI platforms and start understanding how to build, host, and control parts of your own AI environment.
