Oxfam and Friday Gallery: Stories, Solidarity, and Art
Join Oxfam and Friday Gallery for an evening of storytelling and solidarity centered on Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. Co-hosted and co-created with Friday Gallery, an art gallery and cultural salon dedicated to contemporary voices from the Global South, the event will take place within Sada صدى /On Echoes, an exhibition by Palestinian-American artist and roboticist Charles Aweida, whose work explores the intersection of science, engineering, visual art, and the natural world.
The program will feature remarks from Abby Maxman, Oxfam's President and CEO, followed by a fireside chat with James Hoobler, Oxfam's Humanitarian Policy Advisor. Through stories from the ground and reflections from Oxfam's work alongside local Palestinian partners, the conversation will explore the realities facing communities in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. Oxfam will share insights about the ongoing efforts to provide lifesaving support and the importance of advancing humanitarian access, lasting peace, and inclusive recovery. Together, through art and dialogue, we'll reflect on resilience, connection, and the power of local communities in the face of crisis.
In lieu of a ticket charge, please consider making a donation to Oxfam America, to support our vital work in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon.
In the spirit of community and connection, refreshments will be served throughout the evening.
