Anonymous videotapes presage a musician's murder conviction, and a gangster's girlfriend leads a mechanic astray.

Lynch at his most disorienting — identity dissolving mid-film, a plot that refuses to resolve into anything tidy, and a dread that builds through sound and shadow more than story.
