Regular deadline is January 19. However, we strongly encourage early applications. Early bird applicants may be considered and selected early, with longer lead times for being matched with expert mentors ahead of program kick-off.
What would you do if you were able to bring the greatest minds together to solve one of society’s biggest technological or scientific challenges? The answer is probably different from your business as usual—both in kind and in scale.
Led by former DARPA PMs Joshua Elliott and JP Chretien with support from Coefficient Giving (fka Open Philanthropy), the Big if True Science Accelerator teaches key strategies and tactics to scope bold concepts and transform those concepts into actionable programs.
With two cohorts underway in partnership with UK's Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) and Germany's Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation (SPRIND) in Germany, we invite ambitious scientists and technologists to join our third cohort in the Americas. We will support 10-16 aspiring R&D leaders to develop detailed visions for CRPs or other innovative research program designs.
Program structure
15 weeks of iteration on a program vision
1:1 guidance from experienced mentors from DARPA, ARPA-E, ARPA-H and other agencies for high-risk coordinated research programs (CRPs)
Demo day for community feedback and starting conversations with funders and potential host institutions
The program is part-time and virtual, designed to be compatible with full-time work
