Tambo is an AI orchestration framework for your react frontend.
The mission
Join the tambo team for one focused week to help build the future of generative user experiences.
There are two paths:
Founding Contributors: Apply to take on scoped issue and contribute to the open source improving the tambo platform.
Founding Builders Build a tambo template demonstrating how to use tambo features.
Across both tracks there are $10k in grants & prizes available!
Founding Contributors ($6,500+)
Only 10 Founding Contributors will be selected. Each receives a specific issue with a grant amount attached (min $250). Issues will range from voice input to parallel component generation! Issues will be assigned by the tambo core team.
In addition to any grant the best PRs are eligible for a prize:
1st: $1,000
2nd: $750
3rd: $250
Scoring rubric
25% Code Quality: Clean, efficient, maintainable; consistent patterns.
25% Documentation: Clear setup and usage with concise examples/snippets.
25% Pull Request: Well-structured with a clear title/summary; visuals if useful.
25% Testing Instructions: Minimal, reproducible steps covering edge cases and environments.
Founding Builders ($3,500)
Open to all applicants. Your mission is to build a tambo starter template that can take a developer from concept to working example fast. It must be open-source.
Prize Pool: $3,500
1st: $2,000
2nd: $1,000
3rd: $500
Scoring rubric
25% Visual Aesthetics – The template has a polished, professional appearance and consistent visual design.
25% Quality of Setup and Code Clarity – The setup process is straightforward, with clear, maintainable, and well-structured code.
25% Usefulness for Getting from 0 to 1 – The template enables a developer to go from concept to working example quickly and effectively.
25% Explanation in Your Write-Up – The accompanying blog post clearly explains what the template does, how it works, and how to adapt it.
