Today, Yuhan Fu is teaching Collect. how to build a GPT from scratch, based on Andrej Karpathy's tutorial on building a GPT from scratch. We'll dig into the Transformer architecture that powers modern LLMs, the engine behind today's AI.

This is a technical topic, but if you usually come to Collect. for other reasons, don't worry. You're more than welcome to attend and co-work as usual.

The session is at Volta's Armoyan Boardroom, same as always.

​6:30 PM: Teaching Start - Yuhan begins going over building a GPT from scratch

​7:30 PM: Teaching end, - time for everyone to try it out for themselves

9:00pm: End of Collect. Session

​Our community is full of incredibly creative and brilliant individuals, many of whom spend considerable time working independently side by side in cafes and on campus. While we occasionally share what we're working on, there is a lack of intentional community focused on this vital aspect of our lives. Collect. seeks to create a space that builds this community, and fosters deeper collaboration that might not naturally emerge within the current environment in Halifax.

​Yes! If you do not have a passion project, or idea you are working on currently, Collect. offers the right atmosphere for getting the ball rolling. Come brainstorm, collaborate, and take the first step to starting that passion project you've always wanted to pursue.
