Finance Friday Afternoon - FFA: Where Climate Capital Meets Action
Climate finance is hard to explain. This afternoon, as part of Barcelona Climate Week, we try to answer a simple question: what do we actually mean by climate finance, and how does it work in practice?
Climate action depends on capital reaching the right projects, backed by credible data and working markets. Finance Friday Afternoon brings practitioners in climate finance, ESG data and climate risk who will walk through the topics they deal with every day, in two short panels, followed by open networking.
What to expect
Panel 1: Making Climate Projects Investable From idea to bankable: what separates a fundable project from a promising one
Panel 2: ESG Data and Climate Risk for Investment Decisions From funded to accountable: how do we measure, report and manage risk after financing?
Your turn: you'll get a sticky note when you arrive. Write your own definition of climate finance, and we'll read a few at the end.
Confirmed Speakers: Mary-Crescent Carter (independent climate finance consultant), Mark Nabong (renewable energy expert), Michael Liebmann (renewable energy and blended finance expert), Igor Kadach (Associate Professor at IESE Business School), Daria Bogatyreva (ESG reporting expert), Jorge Calvín (Commercial Director at Lobelia) and Daisy Pacheco (climate and sustainable finance policy expert).
