Methane in Phase-out Roadmaps
How can methane mitigation be integrated into fossil fuel phase-out roadmaps?
As national and global roadmaps take shape, building on Santa Marta, this COP31 session hosted by LINGO will examine the role of fossil methane reductions in transition planning.
The discussion will consider how near-term methane mitigation can support a managed decline in fossil fuel extraction and use, while avoiding prolonged dependence on methane gas. It will explore practical approaches to incorporating methane measures into roadmap design and identify priorities for follow-up after COP31.
The one-hour session will feature representatives from governments, roadmap experts, and real-world practitioners, followed by moderated discussion and audience Q&A.
