Panel on Green Skills for a Climate Resilient Future: Developing the workforce to deliver
Seeking expressions of interest from senior (c-suite, director-level) individuals from businesses, NGOs, and government to join a ~20-person strategic panel in the UNFCCC Blue Zone.
Spots are limited so an early RSVP is recommended.
The transition to a net zero, climate-resilient economy is fundamentally a people challenge. While investment in technology, infrastructure and innovation continues to accelerate, delivering climate goals will depend on having the workforce, leadership and skills required to implement change at scale.
From renewable energy and electricity networks to sustainable construction, building retrofit, nature-based solutions and circular economy approaches, employers across sectors are reporting skills shortages that could slow progress towards climate and resilience objectives. At the same time, the transition presents a major opportunity to create high-quality jobs, support economic growth and ensure that workers and communities benefit from the shift to a greener economy.
This panel will bring together leaders from the built environment, energy and sustainability professions to explore how industry, professional bodies, education providers and policymakers can collaborate to build the green skills pipeline needed for the decades ahead.
Confirmed panelists are: Stephanie Whittaker (BAM), Martin Baxter (ISEP) and Saul Humphrey (CIOB)
