About Event

This interactive session will screen the documentary #ToxicTrade by NTV - How Toxic Pesticides Endanger Farmers as a starting point to explore how research findings can move beyond reports and screenings and turn knowledge into collective responsibility and action.

Co-hosted by Growth4Change and Route to Food, the session brings together researchers, creatives, activists and the wider public to unpack how power operates in food systems, and how storytelling can help shift that power. Moving beyond awareness, the session asks how research-based food advocacy and creative expression can build alliances, amplify voices, and turn evidence into action.

The session takes place within the Poetry Slam Africa Festival, organized by Creative Spills and Kenya Poetry Slam.

#FoodisPolitics is a call to action for anyone who believes in fair, inclusive, and sustainable food systems. It is a dedicated space for dialogue and debate on who controls food systems, whose knowledge counts, and how change happens. This session is part of a broader effort to bridge research, culture and civic engagement and to explore how creativity can act as a catalyst for fairer and more sustainable food systems.
