Interpretive Dance Workshop

​Welcome to Interpretive dance, also known as dance scoring.

​Similar to a composer scoring music to a story, in interpretive dance we score a movement to a story.

​Meet your guide Ж, an experimental composer, vocalist, performance artist and dancer. Ж will lead you through an instructive dance workshop on the art of movement and the connection of emotional expression to movement.

​After going through warmup techniques, and stretching techniques, you’ll study choreography and expressive development.

​In this class, we will learn a water dance.

​Hosted by the popping art events hub, Uzay Gallery, located in the heart of the mission district, we welcome you to dance in the sunbeamed art ware-home under wide glass windows.

​Key info:

​All levels welcome. Dance experience is a plus but not required.

​Arrive lightly warmed up and ready to go.

​Wear comfortable workout garb. Be ready to move and to sweat.

​-layers (we are dancing indoors but Sf weather is notoriously unpredictable)
