AI for the Built Environment Hackathon
Build something useful for Singapore’s built environment — in half a day.
Join us for a hands-on AI hackathon organised by the National University of Singapore, with support from Lorong AI, Google, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), and industry partners.
Participants will work in teams to tackle real-world challenge statements from the built environment, using today’s AI tools to rapidly turn ideas into working apps and prototypes.
You are welcome to build with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or other AI tools of your choice.
Mentors from NUS and industry will be available throughout the build session to help teams scope ideas, troubleshoot, and turn concepts into demos.
No coding background is required. The focus is on identifying a good problem, experimenting with AI, and building something that works.
Who should join
Students, researchers, industry practitioners, and anyone interested in applying AI to the built environment.
Come with a team, or meet collaborators on the day.

What you’ll do
Work with your team to respond to a real-world challenge statement and turn your idea into a working prototype, app, workflow, or demo.
The goal is not to build a perfect product in a few hours. It is to show how AI can be used creatively and practically to address real built-environment challenges.
