About Event

Event overview

INFORMS-Pittsburgh is hosting a panel discussion focused on project and product management for analytics. The goal of the panel is to help technical analysts and students better understand the role of project and product management in cross-functional teams, and how these roles bridge the gap between technical development teams, domain experts, and end customers. Register and submit questions you want addressed by these panelists

Why analysts need to understand project and product management

Analytical projects in practice operate under very different dynamics than academic or purely technical exercises. The ultimate success of an analytics or data science solution depends on its ability to solve real business problems and deliver value to end users. Understanding project and product management equips analysts with essential skills to navigate product discovery, manage stakeholder expectations, handle ambiguity, and align technical output with business objectives. This panel has experience in working with analysts, collaborating with end users and subject matter experts within cross-functional teams, and ensuring the resulting models transition from theoretical concepts into impactful, actionable products.
