Youth Wildfire Case Competition
The Youth Wildfire Case Competition, hosted by CYCAT during the PNW Climate Week on Sunday July 19th, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM PDT, invites teams to pitch original, ethical solutions to the Pacific Northwest’s escalating wildfire crisis. This virtual case competition is an opportunity for young people to dig into real wildfire challenges, develop solutions, and present their findings in a competitive format.
This competition is open to youth (under 24) who want to put their problem-solving skills to the test on one of Canada's most pressing climate challenges.
You can register as a team of 3-5 or as an individual. Individuals will be put in a team.
This case competition will consist of an info meeting on Sunday, July 12th at 3:00 PM PDT and the actual competition on Sunday, July 19th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM PDT. Work time will be given, but you should conduct independent work with your team throughout the week.
You will earn 8 volunteer hours by participating in this case competition, with the potential to earn prizes if you are a winner.
Participants will also learn from experts in wildfires throughout the case competition.
We encourage participants to pay $5 to enter the competition to support our work; however, as we recognize cost is a barrier, the registration fee is not mandatory.
By registering for this event, you agree to share your information with the event organizers, PNW Climate Week, and Climatebase / the Climate Week Network. You may receive updates from these organizations, and can opt out at any time in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
