Global Goals, Local Action: Advancing SDG 6 In Chicago
This event is affiliated with Chicago Water Week, presented by Current
Join us for a panel discussion that explores how global water and sanitation goals translate into meaningful, local impact. This discussion will connect the mission of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) to Chicago's unique water challenges and opportunities. Topics will include climate/water resilience, equitable access, green infrastructure and the future of Chicago as a global leader in championing water issues.
We are bringing together diverse voices across multiple sectors. At this time panelists include Rachel Havrelock: Director of Freshwater Labs At UIC, Matt Martin: Alderman of the 47th Ward, and Meleah Geertsma: Director of Clean Water and Equity at the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
The event will be facilitated by UNA Ambassadors for Sustainable Development Goal 6: Jonah Miller and Abby Spengler
