About Event

Soon, robotics and autonomous systems will be ubiquitous within the industrial infrastructure and our homes. But these systems are as susceptible — if not more — to privacy and security threats as existing online systems.

Join Carnegie Mellon University faculty and an industry moderator for a high-impact seminar on the emerging, system-wide approach to robotics security and privacy.

This session synthesizes the findings of the recent CyLab Robotics Security and Privacy Workshop, distilling the foundational challenges and key research directions of CyLab's most ambitious initiative to date - the Robotics Security and Privacy Initiative. We will move beyond component-level security to address the unique complexities of this domain, including the interplay of hardware, software, AI, and human factors.

Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the foundational challenges and, more importantly, the specific mechanisms and opportunities to engage with CMU to influence research direction, collaborate on projects, and advance the security and privacy of the next generation of robotic systems.

Speakers:

Sebastian Scherer, Associate Research Professor, Robotics Institute,

Sarah Scheffler, Assistant Professor, Engineering & Public Policy; Software and Societal Systems

Eunsuk Kang, Associate Professor, Software and Societal Systems

Limin Jia, Research Professor, Electrical & Computer Engineering

Jorge Guajardo Merchan, Lead Expert & Senior Manager, Bosch
